Thursday 6th June
Starts 19:00 // Ends 22:00
Glasgow Streetsound, in partnership with Buskers of Glasgow (https://linktr.ee/BuskersofGlasgow), is a live music showcase at Glasgow city centre based venue Room 2 (just off Buchanan Street), aimed at giving recognition to Glasgow’s (and further afield) talented musicians and street performers.
Join us for an evening of amazing live music for #20 with Daniel Ladds, Haystack Monolith, John Taylor Spence and Ginger Nettle.
DANIEL LADDS: “With his social media videos having thousands of views and even over a million from his busking ones, Daniel is a natural when it comes to playing guitar. Daniel takes from the likes of Virtuoso fingerstyle guitarist Luca Stricagnoli where he has drawn most of his inspiration from acquiring the ability to master techniques such as multi instrumental arrangements including not one but two guitars as well as utilizing different tools to acquire a unique sound such as the Guitar Ring which he uses as apart of his percussive performances. This has allowed him to pursue a hopeful endeavour in music and even draw the attention of the likes of Luca himself, Andy McKee, Lewis Capaldi, Survivor as well as Disney Soundtrack’s Alan Menken through his attention gained online performing covers or arrangements of these very artists music. This all began two years ago when Daniel decided it was time to pursue what he really enjoyed starting in the Heart of Glasgow where he busked starting with minimal equipment and then began to branch out to venues, weddings and even the Edinburgh Fringe as well as attract endorsements from companies in the industry such as Alvarez Guitars and more. If you really want to see what the acoustic guitar was made for make sure to come along to experience it yourself!”
HAYSTACK MONOLITH: “Mark Urban is Haystack Monolith, Hooligan Sadikson is Haystack Monolith, You are Haystack Monolith. Guitar, vocals and drums explore moss, wool and comparative vibrational levels between species… We are all Haystack Monoliths. May contain jellyfish!”
JOHN TAYLOR SPENCE: “A singer-songwriter from suburban Glasgow. Last year, he started off busking on the streets of Glasgow as well as playing at local music festivals, open mic nights and headlining Broadcast. With a debut single and more to come, he looks forward to pursuing a solo music career in Glasgow!”
GINGER NETTLE: “A singer-songwriter from Narnia AKA Forth village. “My songs have a bluesey/folk feel and are inspired by life, the universe, mushrooms and magick. Always remember the great Bardic quote: “Never piss off a Bard, for they will write a song about ye.”
