Glasgow Streetsound, in partnership with Buskers of Glasgow (https://linktr.ee/BuskersofGlasgow), is a live music showcase at city centre based venue Room 2 Live (just off Buchanan Street), aimed at giving recognition to Glasgow’s (and further afield) talented musicians and street performers.
Join us for an evening of amazing live music for #13 with Tanzana, Dean Robinson, Luna J and Blair Gilmour.
Please select the ticket option for the act you are primarily buying your ticket to support. £8+BF in advance. £10 on the door. 14+. Under 18’s must be accompanied by an adult. ID required (birth certificate, driving licence – full or provisional, passport, Young Scot card).
TANZANA (formerly La-Zuli): A 5-piece all-girl teenage alternative rock band from Glasgow. The band formed during late 2022 and in February were crowned winners of Battle of the Bands Lanarkshire 2023. Following gigs at Carlton Studios and Broadcast, Tanzana were invited to play Eden Festival’s main stage in June. Tanzana’s influences are broad and wide, including bands like Fleetwood Mac, the Strokes, Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Buckley and Rage against the Machine (to name just a few). Tanzana are due to be recording their first single for release in the autumn of 2023.”
DEAN ROBINSON: “A local Glasgow folk musician writing dreamy pop songs, and melancholy ballads. He is not to be missed!”
LUNA J: “A 21 year-old Scottish pop/hip hop artist with a slight punk twist. Her relatable lyrics and catchy hooks pull you in with a feeling of familiarity, a blast from the past at times with a modern twist and unique cheeky quirk, she is producing songs that get in your head and don’t come out. LUNA J takes influences from artists such as Dominic Fike and Adele to make her lyrics up beat whilst still displaying emotion and some other fairly notable influences in her work include Billie Eilish, Avril Lavigne, Sasha Sloan and Ed Sheeran.”
BLAIR GILMOUR: “A 17 year-old multi-instrumentalist singer/songwriter from Irvine, in Scotland. He plays guitar, keyboard, harmonica and drums, plus any other instruments he feels can inspire him, help control his Tourette’s tics, or contribute to the therapeutic aspirations behind his music. He started singing as a solo artist aged 13 and is also the front man of the band The Critics (formerly The Barely Responsible) and the drummer in The Frantics. Blair has already played some great venues including King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut, The Classic Grand, The Clutha Bar and the iconic Barrowland Ballroom in Glasgow. He is constantly writing and producing new material and developing his sound, walking a path that avoids the corporate ‘4-chord structure’ in favour of spontaneous music that comes from beneath the skin, taken day-to-day and reacting to heartbreak and joyful observation in equal measure. Always organic and always original, his vocals are recognisable, with a distinctive tone and a slight hint of accent. He describes his musical style as ‘Alt-Indie’ and some of his tracks have an anthemic vibe that would satisfy any stadium audience. Blair is an exciting artist who sees music as healing, for both him and his audience. He immerses himself in music on a sensory level, uncovering the secrets of writing, producing and performing and enjoying the journey along with his listeners.”
Thank you for your support and see you there!
