SARAH McMURRAY: “A 22 year old Glasgow based pop singer/songwriter from Northern Ireland who has been writing songs for ten years. Inspired by artists and bands such as Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Maisie Peters, The 1975 and Noah Cyrus and stays true to her honest storytelling abilities in the hopes of pursuing a full-time career as a musician. Sarah can be found on TikTok and Instagram under @sarahmcmurray_ and all streaming platforms under Sarah McMurray.”
REDLINE: “We are an up and coming band from just outside of Glasgow who focus on Indie rock/rock songs. You can watch our covers on our Instagram page @band_redline with original songs too and many more we are working away at. Our aim is to bring back a focus on passionate, talented musicians as opposed to the artificial drum machines and soulless lyrics popular in today’s world. We were all brought up on the likes of Oasis, Nirvana and The Stone Roses and we feel this influence shows in our songwriting and overall sound.”
OLIVIA-JANE: “A 17 year-old singer/songwriter from Ayrshire. Having grown up listening to country music my whole life, this is where I take my main inspiration from when I’m singing and more recently songwriting myself. Since leaving school earlier this year, I have been busking and performing at open mic nights around Glasgow. I was inspired to do this after performing with my favourite country singers Brothers Osborne in May at one of their concerts. My confidence and passion for performing is growing by the day through busking and now I can’t wait to get up on new stages and see where I am headed on my musical journey.”
MICHAEL WERNINCK: “A night busker for over seven years, Michael Werninck is one of the very few street musicians willing or able to brave Glasgow’s ‘Crazy Hour’ – the 3am mark when the nightclubs close and partygoers spill out onto the pavements in search of more entertainment. It’s a lucrative but perilous time of night which requires Mike to stand his ground against crowds who see him as a human karaoke machine. They aren’t afraid of making lunges for the microphone or guitar. Sometimes he’s been caught in between the police and a large drunk crowd who refuse to disperse without, “One more tune!” During the quieter spells from 10pm onwards, Mike uses the time to write songs and practice material for the many music projects he’s played and toured the UK with. In 2014, those who walked past Mike every weekend might have noticed his disappearance. For 3 years he left Scotland to travel Europe – hitch hiking through almost every country with his tent and guitar. During that time he wrote and recorded his first 2 solo albums, performing every instrumental part as well as vocals. Returning to Glasgow more permanently in 2017, Mike is now the resident engineer and producer of a studio collective. He still night busks, and occasionally you’ll see him during the day playing on Buchanan Street, the centre of the three streets dubbed ‘The Golden Z’ by Glasgow’s busking community.”
Thank you for your support and see you there!
