Mobilising gig for St Andrew’s Day Anti-Racist Demo. 18+.

“Join us for a special demo mobilising musical extravaganza, supported by the Black Workers Committee of the Scottish Trades Union Congress.
We’re promoting the St Andrew’s Day Anti-Racism March and Rally, started by the trade union movement in the 1980s to block the fascists’ attempt to claim the day as their own. It’s now in its 40th year this year (30 Nov), and we think it is something to celebrate.
We’ve put together this special line up for this party with a purpose. Share it across your networks and book your ticket now.
Join us on the 22nd for an unforgettable night of music, and to party with a purpose. We’ve got an incredible lineup ready to get you movin’ and groovin’, all while uniting against hate. – ACE V!S!ON’s lyrical prowess and thundering yet enchanting delivery leave an imprint on listeners whether delivered through witty raps, poignant poetry or subtle vocal musings, refined through years of creating in the Glasgow scene.
The Glasgow African Balafon Orchestra (GABO) is a cocktail of musicians of all different backgrounds, bringing together the distinct flavours of the world through the joy of orchestral music. It is a unique blend and fusion of musicians, folklorists and storytellers representing the best musical flavours and stories of our shared humanity. GABO believes that there is more love in the world today than hatred, and we are inspired by this belief. We focussed our best creative healing energies on sharing the love of Afrobeat, global jazz, soul, funk, and some traditional tunes from rural Africa and other parts of the world that have not been previously heard by the rest of the world.
And we are delighted to have Scottish Album of the Year Award longlist nominee BEE ASHA complete this fantastic line up! Bee Asha is a spoken word & mixed media artist from Scotland. Asha’s music take influence from her mixed heritage, queer identity and lived experiences of love, loss, connection and disconnection. Asha performs live with a full band, expect storytelling and songs that will have you both lyrically moved and make you want to move your hips.”
